BiographyKeith Bullivant is Professor of German and former Chair of the Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies at UF. His teaching and research have been focused on German Studies since he co-founded the Department of German studies in 1970 at the University of Warwick (UK). Focal points of his work include the interaction between German literature and the industrial culture of the 19th century, the culture of the Weimar Republik, the cultural and intellectual life of West Germany since 1945, and the unified Federal Republic of Germany since 1990. Recent publications include The Future of German Literature (1994) and Dieter Wellershof: Werke in sechs Bänden (1996-97), which he co-edited with Manfred Durzak of the University of Paderborn. He is currently working on Berlin in the 20th Century: Constructing and Deconstructing the Metropolis.
